Monique Weaver welcomed as Village of Rockton Community Promotions Coordinator
Monique Weaver brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to her position as the Village of Rockton Community Promotions Coordinator.
Monique Weaver has stepped into the part time position of the Village of Rockton Community Promotions Coordinator with great enthusiasm since she started on November 2, 2025.
Weaver says of her new position, “While there are may aspects to my job, the primary components are general promotion of Rockton and event coordination and implementation. My history of planning and organization assists me greatly with our larger events.
As the Community Promotions Coordinator, Weaver oversees general promotion, media contact and press interaction, social media maintenance and interaction, and event organization and implementation.
Weaver works closely with the Village businesses to create fun events to bring people to the unique village.
Weaver brings a wealth of experience into her position, working as a marketing professional for over 20 years.
She has also been a Rockton Lion for over 15 years where she has volunteered in many capacities.
Weaver served on the Lions Club Board for several years as a director. She also served as the media representative for the OSD festival for around five years. In her capacity as the media representative she did interviews, coordinated media coverage and assisted with onsite coverage during the event.
Currently Weaver is working with the OSD Treasurer, Rebekah Denowh. She volunteers to help with Wimpy's Fund wrapping and delivery.
“The Rockton Lions Club is the most rewarding volunteer group of which I have been a part of,” Weaver said.
When Weaver's sons were in grade school, she was a room mom who helped to put on the class parties.
Weaver's first official event was the 41st annual Rockton Christmas Walk, The newest event she is working on is the Rockton Yeti Fest.
In addition to the events already mentioned, seasonal and annual events in the Village of Rockton that Weaver will be bringing to life include Rockton's Main Street Trick or Treat, with a Trunk or Treat by the Rockton American Legion, Rockton's Easter Egg Hunt, The Rockton River Market, and the Summer Palooza.
Businesses host events such as Jingle Bell Rockton, Small Business Saturday and the Spring Sprinkle.
Weaver and her family, her husband Chris and their two sons, Carter and Marcus, have lived in the Rockton- Roscoe area for 15 years.
“This area has captured my heart and I love the community dearly,” Weaver said
“The Village of Rockton has many events that people support and enjoy. I'm excited to continue those special opportunities to get together and to share in our area.”
Village President John Peterson shares, “There were a few fantastic candidates that applied but we felt Monique was very aligned with our goals for the special events and that made her the best candidate.”
“She has extensive experience in promoting special events with her background promoting OSD for several years. She is very organized and has amazing energy and passion for making our events successful. We have been impressed with what she has accomplished so far and feel confident she will continue to make our events even better going forward.”
