Meet Phil Rhymer: candidate for Roscoe Township Trustee
Phil Rhymer

Phil Rhymer is running for Roscoe Township Trustee in the April 1 election. Check out all our candidate profiles in our expanded 2025 Election Guide for Roscoe, Rockton, and South Beloit.

My name is Phil Rhymer and I am running for reelection as Township Trustee.

I have been a resident of Roscoe Township over 40 years. I have been married to Kerry for almost 50 years. We have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

I have been a community activist for all the years I have lived in our Township and have over 10,000  donated hours into and for our community. My wife Kerry and I helped secure the superfund site designation for the old farm and Hononegah Heights. We worked with the Illinois EPA. This led to the free municipal water hook up for hundreds of residents in both subdivisions.

I am currently a Board member of The Roscoe Township Historical Society and serving as Project  Manager on the Robert J Cross Homestead. We are in the process of complete Restoration and Preservation of the 1835 Homestead.

1986-2006 - Worked for The Village of Roscoe Public Works Department - In that time we built Porter Park Cabin and the first driver’s license facility.

1991-1996 - Former Vice President of the Roscoe Youth Baseball

1996-2006 - Former President of the Roscoe/Rockton Lions Football - I had the privilege of being the  Project Manager of the Lights On project for the football field. I was able to obtain the donations to fund the stadium lights and new bleachers for the field.

My goal and vision is to serve our community, helping to build a better, stronger future for all of the Township residents and their families.
