Why did you decide to run?

We made the decision to move to Rockton in 2019. Our eldest daughter was in second grade and in a 50-student classroom. We raise our concerns that this was not the optimal environment for learning to the teachers and school administrators without relief.  Our kids have thrived since moving to Rockton and I wanted to give back to the district.

Tell us about your background and accomplishments that you bring to the table.

I am a critical care pharmacist by background and have worked at two area health systems in the roll. I transitioned into a clinical informatics roll at Rockford Health System in 2012. Our small, local, and agile team was able to bring a data driven approach to clinical decision support that gain national attention in the informatics space in the areas of IV infusion smart pumps and personalize precision medicine. In 2020 I transitioned to developing life insurance underwriting decision support tools using health care claims data and EHR clinical data.

I’ve been blessed to work with amazing people my entire career and I have found that you can learn a lot if you listen and seek to understand the idea or point others are making instead of seeking to speak first.

What do you hope to accomplish in this office in the future?

One of my goals is to bring more of an emphasis on measuring and tracking student growth. The district administration has done a good job of this, but I believe that teachers and principals could be more empowered if that had better data and easier to understand visualizations of the data.

Why should people vote for you?

Know that I have two children currently in the district, I am local to the area. My interests is to have a sustainable and high performing school district.
