Marty Fritts (1960-2022) taught everyone, enjoyed nature better than anyone
A Sunday afternoon visitation and a Tuesday funeral are planned.
Martin “Marty” J. Fritts, 61, Roscoe, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 14, 1960, the son of James and Elaine (Horbelt) Fritts. Marty was a 1978 graduate of Guilford High School and later graduated from Rock Valley College with an associate’s degree. He married his love, Tina McCoy, on September 8, 1984. On October 25, 2016, she passed away. In 2017, Marty found a new love, Teresa Granberg, who became his fiancé.
Marty was a loyal employee of Sundstrand Corporation, now Collins Aerospace, and later an employee of Warner Electric, now part of Altra Industrial Motion. He was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.
Marty always had goals of becoming a teacher, and even though he went down a different career path, he endlessly taught everyone around him. He enjoyed all of the Chicago sports teams as well as the Las Vegas Raiders. He loved reading, writing, making jokes, and jamming to his tunes. Marty had a knack for enjoying nature better than anyone else.
Most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family. He was never one to shy away from a conversation, and because of that, he was able to gain an amazing group of loved ones around him.
