Main Street Meat gift basket sells for $1,025 to benefit charity

Main Street Meat Co. of Roscoe recently earned the Grand Champion title for their locally sourced Snack Sticks at the Illinois State Fair, competing against other top processors from across the state.
As part of the fair festivities, Amy King and Barb Nelson created a beautiful gift basket filled with their award-winning Snack Sticks and other Main Street Meat Co. favorites to be entered into the Annual Governor’s Sale of Champions at the Illinois State Fair.
During the 2025 Commodity Auction & Sale of Champions, their gift basket sold for an impressive $1,025, with proceeds benefiting the Illinois Sleeter Bull Meat Science Scholarship Fund, supporting education and the future of the meat industry. Auctioneer Cory Craig was the winning bidder.
These award-winning Snack Sticks are available in their retail store at 9515 N. Second Street in Roscoe, as well as most Kelly's Market Mobil stores in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. You can buy a package of Snack Sticks for $8.99 on their website, or a Variety Pack for $39.95.
Matt King says they try to source their meat within 400 miles of their Roscoe establishment. He told us, “As a company we are friends throughout the state with other meat processors. We are honored to win Grand Champion this year in Snack Stick Category.”
