Lady SOBOs basketball run the clock against Hiawatha
The Lady SOBOS triumphed 54-28 against Hiawatha in the first of two back-to-back games.
On Monday, January 13, 2025, the SOBOs played Hiawatha at South Beloit's gymnasium. The Lady SOBOs varsity basketball team is a balanced team, third in their conference with a win-loss record of 7-10 including non-conference games. With the first game of the week, the Lady SOBOs took a win, while Hiawatha kept a less than favorable record with one win against eighteen losses.
During the game, the Lady SOBOs demonstrated good passing while Hiawatha kept their playing consistent, bringing them to half-time with a score of 38-13. Following half-time, the deal was sealed even if the SOBOs ran tired. Some points remained tense, with multiple missed shots and rebounds lining the SOBO performance during the fourth quarter, but their defense remained strong and locked in their win with a score of 54-28.
As part of two back-to-back games, the SOBOs took their wins up to 8, with the next game looking equally promising. Following these consecutive games, the Lady SOBOs play at home one more time this week on Thursday, January 15, 2025 against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy's Lady Guardians.
