Rockton schoolgirl struck by car on Latham Road
The Jan. 10, 2025 tragedy happened at a school bus stop.
A Rockton School District girl was struck by a car Friday, January 10, 2025 at approximately 7:00 a.m., Winnebago County Sheriff Deputies responded to the 2700 block of Latham Road for a report of a car vs. pedestrian crash. Upon arrival, deputies located a female juvenile that had been struck by a car. The female juvenile was transported to a local hospital and then taken to a Madison hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, remained on scene.
The MCAT (Major Crash Assistance Team) and Winnebago County Sheriff Detectives are investigating the crash. No further details are available at this time. Please follow us on social media for any further updates.

Dear Rockton families,
I wanted to inform you of an accident that occurred this morning. A student was hit by a car while at a bus stop. At this point we have no further details to share. You may see stories in the media today and your child may become aware from social media or friends as details are shared. We are prepared to support students in any way needed. Please keep all involved in your thoughts and prayers.
We will keep you updated to the best of our ability as we learn more regarding the situation.
