Jordan Dimke commits to continue her athletic and academic career at the University of Illinois Springfield
Elite competitor who is always playing to win
The online Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of the word “winner“ states the following:
a: one that is successful especially through praiseworthy ability and hard work
b: a victor especially in games and sports
c: one that wins admiration
Well, I cannot think of a better definition of the high school career for Jordan Dimke. Jordan took part in many sports throughout her high school career. Just a few of them are volleyball, basketball, track & field, and flag football. She was outstanding in every one of them. Not just a player but a leader, great teammate and someone who learned, developed and tried to bring her teammates along.

At the heart of what she did was compete. Competing is something that feels like it is lost at times on the younger generations; however, if you saw Jordan play during her time at Hononegah, be thankful that she was on the Indians and not another team. No matter the sport, no matter the score, no matter the opponent, she was going to compete to win.
When I asked her on Monday evening what the word “compete” meant to her, the first thing she did was smile, not because she was embarrassed but because it’s just what she does. Then she gave the most Jordan Dimke answer ever, "I don't know when to stop."

Head Girls Basketball and Flag Football Coach Jason Brunke has tried to describe Jordan over the years as best he can. On Monday evening, he described her as an "elite competitor who is always playing to win. That's a trait not every athlete has.” As he said later in his brief comments, those of us older may remember those athletes that were just good at everything, Jordan has natural talent, and a competitive drive to win.

Jordan Dimke is also a brilliant student, finishing with a 3.97 GPA.
Thank you Jordan Dimke for an amazing career at Hononegah High School. We look forward to whatever and wherever your journey takes you.
