Jerry Wallace, 82, of Rockton, Illinois, served on the Rockton school board as well as the Rockton Village board. He was a past president of the Rockton Lions Club and an active member of St Peter Catholic Church. He was employed by Beloit Corporation for 18 years, and then Ingersoll Milling Machine for 23 years. He was noted for his work ethic, jovial sense of humor, his kindness, and several quippy catch phrases. He was a life-long Packer fan and enjoyed all the family gatherings.

Jerry passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at Beloit Memorial Hospital surrounded by family members.

Jerry was born on June 16, 1940 at home in Henrietta Township, Wisconsin. The son of John T. Wallace and Hazel (Woodward) Wallace, he was the youngest of their seven children. Soon after he graduated from Richland Center High School in 1958, Jerry and his young family relocated to Rockton. On June 1, 2022, Jerry and his wife Jo Ann celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine Ann (Jo Ann)  (Ebert) Wallace and seven children, Dennis Wallace of Rockford Il, Jerry ("Bob") Wallace (Debra), of Argyle TX, Patty Paczak (David) of Huntley IL, Steve Wallace (Chris) of Freeport IL, Tom Wallace (Micki) of Genoa IL, David Wallace (Lynette) of Houston TX and Scott Wallace (Kerri) of Rockton IL, along with 17 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Eileen Weedon, Audrey Marshall, Jack Wallace, Ken Wallace, Nellie Thompson, and Larry Wallace.

A visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 21, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022 in St Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit, IL. Final resting place will be Rockton Township Cemetery.  A funeral luncheon will follow at the American Center, 221 W Main St, Rockton. Memorials can be made in Jerry's name to the Rockton Food Pantry or the Rockton Lions Club.
