James E. Hills (1947-2022)

James E. Hills, 74, of Roscoe passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Saturday, January 8, 2022. James was born on December 7, 1947 in Beloit, WI, the son of Herbert George and Josephine Elizabeth (Fasanella) Hills. James married the love of his life Pulsup (Att) Boonchaluay on June 26, 1971. James was a Vietnam veteran of the U. S. Army and member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. He was a former trustee for the Village of Machesney Park and the Village of Roscoe. James was a devoted father, grandfather and enjoyed attending all his children’s and grandchildren’s events and activities.

James was a loving and wonderful companion to his wife Pulsup (Att), and together they traveled the whole country, visiting 48 different states as well as Thailand. James is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pulsup; children: Danica (Bradley) Johnson and Justin (Caresse) Hills; grandchildren: Caden, Emery, Jaxon and Mia; brother: Larry (Joyce) Hills; sister: Jean Hills; sister-in-law: Rita Hills; many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Hills.

In memory of James Hills, memorial donations can be made to either the Parkinson Foundation or the Lewey Body Dementia Association for further research and treatment efforts.

Visitation will be Friday, January 14, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park and one hour before Mass at St. Bridget Catholic Church on Saturday. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave in Loves Park. Military honors will follow at the church. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
