Rockton, IL - As we all know, this time of year, it takes our vehicles a bit to warm up and run the way we want them to. Well, welcome to what happened to the Lady Indians on Friday. Hono scored the first six points, then Harlem bounced back to stay within reach as it looked as though they might be run out of the gym. At the end of the opening quarter, Hononegah 18, Harlem 11. Once the teams changed ends of the court, Hononegah put the pressure on Harlem and got two quick steals and two quick 3-pointers to take a 24-11 lead. Halrem's timeout didn’t slow the increased pressure and scoring from the Indians. Once the halftime buzzer sounded, Hononegah had a 39-22 lead. The third quarter saw much of the same, with a 34-5 quarter scoring margin pushing the final tally after three quarters to 63-27. With the final winner of the NIC 10 showdown no longer in doubt, both teams got younger players into the game, and Hononegah High School won 68-33 to remain undefeated in NIC 10 conference play.

The JV team also got a big win, dropping the Huskies 37-15 and outscoring Harlem 24-4 after halftime.

Next up for the Lady Indians is a road contest against Guilford, a 7 o’clock tip from Guilford High School.
