Indians move to .500 early in the NIC-10

The Hononegah Indian boys got a 66-53 win over Freeport in Freeport and moved to to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the NIC-10. It should have come easier but with sports sometimes it doesn’t.

The Indians led for the entire game getting off to a 7-3 lead in the 1st quarter and leading 13-10 after the 1st quarter ended. 

Midway through the 2nd quarter Hononegah opened up an 11-point margin at Freeport. Before halftime Freeport was able to cut the lead down to just a 29-23 lead for Hononegah. 

The 3rd quarter was a tale of 2 teams for Hononegah. Out of the break from halftime the Indians went on a 14-1 run to gain a 43-23 lead with about 3:30 left in the 3rd quarter. Freeport ended the 3rd on a 9-2 run to cut the lead down to 45-32 after 3. 

The 4th and final stanza saw Hononegah get their lead cut down to 6 points but finally pushed across the finish line with a 66-53 win and improve to 4-3 2-2 and be in the middle of the NIC-10 conference race.
