Hononegah well represented on All Conference basketball teams
Five Hononegah Indians basketball players were named to NIC 10 All Conference basketball teams.
Yesterday, the NIC 10 conference officially released the 2022-2023 All Conference boys and girls basketball teams.
Hononegah was well represented, with Bre Carter and Emma Clark making the first team and Allyson Niedfeldt getting a special mention. No surprise on who was named coach of the year in the NIC 10. After leading the Lady Indians to an 18-0 conference record, Jason Brunke gets another coach of the year award. Hononegah finished the season 28-4 losing in the IHSA playoffs to Harlem 44-31.

The two seniors who made the 1st team all-conference team for the Lady Indians will continue to play hoops at the college level, with Bre Carter attending Millikin University and Emma Clark taking her talents to Saint Xavier University where she will suit up for the Lady Cougars.
Coach Brunke will be returning a deep and talented team next season with five returning juniors and a JV squad that had a 16-2 record, so expect the Lady Indians to again compete for the conference title.
On the boys all-conference team, Isiah Houi’s 1stteam was the only member of the Hononegah team to make all-conference or earn a special mention. Expect Hononegah to have a bounce-back season next year as they bring along a talented and deep JV team that finished 12-6 on the season.
