Hononegah sends 2 runners to the IHSA cross country championships
Juniors Kylie Simpson finished 30th and Landon Samuelson finished 48th at last weekend's championships in Peoria.
Hononegah High School juniors Kylie Simpson and Landon Samuelson competed at the 3A IHSA cross country meet at Detweiller Park in Peoria. Both runners ran outstanding paces and finished 30th and 48 respectively.
Kylie Simpson is no stranger to competing at state level championships, also running last years 3A IHSA championships for the Indians and making the middle school cross championships in 2021.
Landon made the championships this year for the first time but has been on the running scene since he was a freshman at Hononegah. He has been an all conference runner for three years now and on his recruiting profile has a personal statement of “Average guy trying to do un-average things.”
