Hononegah gets 10th win as they take down Belvidere North 52-33
Hononegah boys basketball improved to 10-7 overall, 5-2 in the NIC 10.
Hononegah improved to 10-7 after the 52-33 win over Belvidere North in NIC 10 action Friday night, Jan. 10, 2025.
Hononegah came into Friday's contest against North as losers of two in a row and looking to get a season sweep of the Blue Thunder after beating them at home on December 28.
The Indians jumped on the North squad leading 13-5 after 1 quarter. Hononegah got out of their early stellar play and North got back into the game closing within a couple of buckets midway through the 2nd quarter. Halftime saw Hononegah leading 20-15.
A theme for Hononegah all season long has been getting NBA Jam level "He's on fire" hot after halftime as they got buckets in bunches going on a quick 9-0 run to push their lead to 34-21 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Indians forced lots of 4th quarter turnovers and got to the free throw line quite bit as they had a 20 point lead at points in the 4th.
Hononegah got win number ten 52-33 and improved overall to 10-7, 5-2 in the NIC 10.
Next game for Hononegah is Rockford Auburn (10-7, 6-1) on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025 on the Auburn campus. Tip is set for 7:15 pm.
