The Hononegah Lady Indians closed out their season with a strong ninth‑place finish at the IHSA State Bowling Finals on Saturday at Cherry Bowl, delivering a steady two‑day performance against one of the deepest fields in recent years.
Hononegah posted a 60‑game total of 11,258 pins, averaging 187.6 as a team. The effort kept the Indians inside the top 10 throughout the weekend and showcased the consistency that carried them through the postseason.
Harlem claimed the state championship with a dominant 12,313 total, finishing 150 pins ahead of runner‑up Joliet West.
Hononegah was paced by junior standout Addison Brien, who turned in one of the tournament’s most reliable individual performances. Brien rolled a 12‑game total of 2,484, averaging 207 per game and anchoring the Indians’ lineup from start to finish.
For a young Hononegah squad, the ninth‑place showing adds another building block to a program that continues to compete among the state’s best.
