Indians boys basketball improved to 19-10 as they got past Freeport 78-68 on Tuesday night February 18, 2025 at the Hononegah Fieldhouse in Rockton, Illinois.

The Hononegah Indians got ahead early, leading 20-14 after the first quarter. The Indians earned six points in the opening quarter with key buckets from senior Brayden Olson. Setting the table on both ends of the court was junior Caleb Hart and a key basket by senior Brenden Tell with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter after Freeport cut the lead to 5 points. 

Hononegah went 8 of 8 from the charity strip in the 4th quarter when Freeport was pressuring Hononegah to get back in the game. Hononegah hit 22 free throws in the game and Olson went 10 of 10 from the line. As a team, the Indians went 22-29 from the free throw line.

The win gives Hononegah a 12-5 record in the NIC 10 with one game remaining. 

Next, it's a big rivalry game on the road with Boylan Catholic in the Titan's home gym. Tipoff is set for 7:15  pm.
