The Hononegah Indians bested Harlem in the Guilford 4A Regional Semifinals this Wednesday February 25, 2026.

Senior guard Oba Fasalojo had 26 points off some tough-shot making and effort on the boards. With fellow senior Damariea Briggs having 15 points, continuing his trend of effective paint-scoring and defensive effort.

It was that very same defense that held Auburn and their all-time leading scorer, senior guard Mateo Perera, to a relatively disappointing night.

Perera ended with 18 points and 4 three-pointers; however, nobody else on the team was able to get to double-digits and with Hononegah swarming doubles to the ball, it was not easy for Perera. The Huskies weren’t able to generate an effective offense in the 2nd half.

Hononegah now moves on to the NIC-10 champion Guilford Vikings this Friday at Guilford.

It will be a tough matchup for Hononegah in the IHSA Class 4A regional title game, in the third game they’ve played against each other this year.

Guilford has taken the last two, but the season is not yet over for the Indians as they have a shot at advancing to sectionals.
