Hometown Holiday Community Celebration: Events and Schedule
Three dozen things to do at Roscoe's Hometown Holiday Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 10.
Roscoe's Hometown Holiday Community Celebration, Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 from 4 - 7 p.m., features lighted trees and parade floats, singing, live music, firepits, cookies, popcorn, cider, wassail, and hot chocolate, a live DJ, warm food, food trucks, games, activities, and crafts, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. And watch out for the Grinch!
More than two dozen activities and attractions can be found along Main Street from Fire Station #1 to Main Street Square, between Bridge Street and Williams Street.
Stateline Mass Transit District will provide free shuttle service. Bus stops will be provided on the west side of Main Street at River Street, the east side of Main Street at Pine Lane, as well as inside Main Street Square near Elite Dental, Perfectly Seasoned Catering, and Skin Deep Studio.
We will light the Community Holiday Tree at 6:00 p.m. Join in on the caroling! Sponsors include the Village of Roscoe, the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department, and elev815.

Harlem-Roscoe Fire Station #1, 10544 Main Street:
- Hot chocolate and popcorn
- Lots of games and activities for kids
- Photo opportunities in Santa's sleigh and more.
Roscoe Village Hall, at 10631 Main Street:
- 4 - 7 p.m. - Write and mail letters to Santa with the help of Mrs. Claus. Maybe she'll read you a story.
- 5 - 6 p.m. - Listen to Christmas music from Kevin Burns Good Vibrations.
Firehouse Pub, 10670 Main Street:
- 4 - 7 p.m. - Free cookies and coloring in the large back room. Plus food and refreshments from the menu.
Blackhawk Barber Shop, 10760 Main Street:
- 5 - 5:30 p.m. - Listen to a genuine barbershop quartet, in a barbershop, as you soak in the holiday cheer from members of Rockford Barbershop Chorus
Jim Blevin's State Farm, 10684 Main Street:
- 4 - 7 p.m. - Visit Santa Claus in the cozy white log cabin.
- 4 - 7 p.m. - Sip some wassail around the fire.
- 6 p.m. - See the lighting of the Village Tree. Join in the caroling.
Meyer's Canine Colony, 10985 Main Street:
- 4 - 7 p.m. - Enjoy s'mores around the fire and browse the enchanted holiday shoppe. Doggos welcome!
R&L Ceramics, 10697 Main Street:
- 4 - 7 p.m. - Make and take a custom ceramic holiday ornament - free!
Kinnikinnick Elementary School Gym, 5410 Pine Lane:
- 4 p.m. - Roscoe Middle School and Kinnikinnick bands
- 5 p.m. - Hononegah High School Choir
- 5:30 p.m. - Rockford Barbershop Chorus
- Music continues until 7 p.m.
Main Street Square, at Main and Williams Streets:
Many businesses will be offering free refreshments and warm seating for eating. Members of Rockford Barbershop Chorus will harmonize and stroll among the shops.
- Food trucks, such as Ka-Bao!, Batchz BBQ, and The Vice
- Perfectly Seasoned Catering: food and “adult” hot beverages for purchase, free hot apple cider and coffee with fun mix-ins. Kids can make Reindeer Rice Krispie Treats.
- 11 a.m - 7 p.m. - The 3R's Learning Materials Center starts early. Santa makes a stop from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Kids can make beaded candy canes from 4 - 7 p.m.
- Edward Jones: hot chocolate, cookies and coloring for kids
- Skin Deep Studio: temporary holiday tattoos for kids
- Elite Dental: coffee and hospitality
- Crazy Llama Brewing Company: beverages for adults and children alike
