Heading into Spring and Easter events in the Stateline

As the Stateline heads into spring and Easter, it's time for warm events.

Easter Egg Hunts

Downtown Rockton businesses  are teaming up with the Village of Rockton to bring back a simple, traditional-style Easter egg hunt in Rockton on Saturday, April 16. The fun begins at 10:00 a.m. where participants will gather around the flagpole in Settler's Park. Younger age groups will be given a head start on the older kids. A limited number of eggs are going to be available, depending on the number of egg hunters.  After finding eggs visits with the Easter bunny are sure to create a perfect photo opportunity, especially with a cute spring photo backdrop being used. All ages are welcome!

All are invited to a South Beloit Easter egg hunt on April 16 sponsored by the South Beloit Lions Club with help from South Beloit High School Student Council. The hunt begins at 11:00 a.m. on the grounds of South Beloit High School. Age groups will be divided into age groups of 0-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12.

Also on April 16 is a longtime favorite Roscoe Easter egg hunt run by the Mariner Girl Scouts of Ship 361. Try your luck on the grounds of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church in Roscoe.

Two time slots are open to those wanting to find something awesome; either from 10:00 a.m.-noon or from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Tickets cost $2 per egg - purchase as many eggs as you wish. Each ticket will be given a number on arrival. Search for a specific numbered egg. Once  found, trade it for eggs to receive a basket full of goodies. Finding gold and silver eggs will result in special prizes.

Roscoe VFW will also have an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at 11385 2nd St., Roscoe, IL.

On Easter Sunday, young ones have a chance to celebrate Easter at the Roscoe Lions Club Easter egg hunt. Come out  to Leland Park at 1:00 p.m. Ages 0-9 can find fun inside of a variety of eggs. Bring your baskets or bags for collection of eggs and cameras to capture all of the action!

Louie's Tap House in Roscoe is also hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for the Kids on Easter Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

Great American Cleanup

At the end of the month the Great American Cleanup is being held in conjunction with Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful (KNIB). Gather together as a group or volunteer as an individual to take part in sprucing up the Rockton community and beyond on April 30. All garbage bags and supplies are provided by KNIB.

This annual event is perfect for school groups, scouts, churches, and non-profit organizations.

The Rockton Roscoe Rotary is one of the organizations who are planning to pick up trash, debris, and recyclables in Rockton, Roscoe or South Beloit.

Join in the fun at various Easter egg hunts and show community pride by taking part in the Great American Cleanup.
