Halloween events bringing fun in the Stateline
Whether you like spooky or creepy or not, there's plenty to do in Rockton, South Beloit, and Roscoe.
Ghosts and goblins or mummies of any age won't want to miss trick or treating, visiting a trunk or treat, or wrapping yourself up in the offering of great amounts of fun coming to the Stateline.
Trick or treat hours in Rockton and Roscoe are Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. Time to fill bags in South Beloit is from 4:30 until 7 p.m.
Roscoe celebrated with creative fun options last weekend at Porter Park and Roscoe UMC. This weekend you can find Halloween events at Northpointe Wellness and Kids Spot.
Rockton and South Beloit have numerous events planned for this coming weekend.
Northern Illinois Fear Fest is bringing a kid friendly haunted hayride to 6512 Manchester Rd. in South Beloit on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27 and 28, 2023. Times to take this journey are from 4-6 p.m. The cost is $5 per person, children six and under ride for free.
Another option at Fear Fest is to try out the Creepy Carnival.
The same Fear Fest location is also having a haunted hayride every weekend in October on Friday and Saturday from 7-11 pm. and 7-10 p.m. Admission is $15 each or buy a $40 triple pass for all three events.
Tickets to events at Fear Fest can be purchased at the gate. Either cash or card is accepted.

Saturday, Oct. 28 opens the crypt to Halloween fun with a Trunk or Treat at First Student Bus Company. This event starts at noon at 720 N. Blackhawk Dr., Rockton, IL and features a haunted bus.
Rockton Inn Pub and Grub invites those 21 and older to an adult costume party on Saturday, Oct. 28. Prizes will be awarded in Best Costume and Group Costume categories at 102 East Main St. in Rockton. They will also have a kid's party the next afternoon.
On Sunday, Oct. 29 from 1-3 p.m., at Rockton's Main St. Trick or Treat, young and young at heart are assured to grab a grand collection of candy or useful things from eleven different businesses. Feel free to start at MembersAlliance Credit Union's booth outside Village Hall and then continue along Main St. and Hawick St.
This year the crew at DeeDee's Main Street will be the Great Gatsby for Main St. Trick or Treat.
Stroll down to the end of Main Street for more as you find treasures in a Trunk or Treat put on by the Rockton American Legion Auxiliary at 221 W Main St.
Following suit, Old Stone Church, 101 E Union Street, is also hosting a Trunk or Treat during the same time.
Then head over to a Trunk or Treat in the parking lot of Rockton United Methodist Church, 102 W. Chapel Street. Collect candy or other treats that will be given away by Rockton Pride and the church.
More candy and adventure await at 624 N. Blackhawk Boulevard, where Miss Andrea's Dance Factory is having a Trunk or Treat. Dance moves might break out in front of the studio.
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, will have a table at Main St. Trick or Treat and will be greeting eager trick or treaters with plenty of candy.
Food, karaoke, games and surprises and prizes are all part of a Happy Halloween Kids Spooky Party coming to Rockton Inn Pub and Grub, across from the Talcott Free Library.
Don't be surprised to see a “Witches Paddle'' on the Rock River. Participants will meet at Macktown Forest Preserve at 12:30 p.m, with a start time of 1 or 1:15 p.m. in preparation of an hour of kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boating (weather permitting), ending at Settlers Park.
The Witches Paddle started in 2020 under the direction of Rachel Lynch. Lynch and her Girl Scout troop co-leader each became certified in small watercraft the summer before. They started kayaking in local waterways and discovered that they loved it. Thus, the Witches Paddle was born. Sugar River Adventures will rent you a kayak if you call ahead.
After Main Street Trick or Treat, St. Andrew Lutheran Church invites all ghouls, witches, princesses, and anyone else to the Common Ground Trunk or Treat on Sunday, Oct. 29 from 4-6 p.m.
Halloween fun is in the air! Candy and other goodies can be collected due to the generosity of local businesses, churches and neighborhoods.
