Glen Shockley owned Shockley’s Towing and Shockley's Tavern

Glen Shockley, 85, of South Beloit, Illinois, was the owner of Shockley’s Towing and Shockley's Tavern in South Beloit.

He passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 10:02 a.m. in  East Bank Center in Loves Park, Illinois.

Glen  was born November 29, 1937 in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Cecil and Lula (Gilbank) Shockley. His favorite things were daily visits to Neli’s Restaurant, driving his “route” around town, and going to South Beloit City Council meetings.

He is survived by his wife Diana; his daughter Linda (Bob) Redieske Sr.; stepdaughters Carla (Chris) Cornell, Tonya (Rick) Schrupp and Mary (Jason) Ovist; daughter Jan (Joe) Sutherland; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Betty Fulton and Shirley Geiger and brother, Ken (Marilyn) Shockley.

He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Lula Shockley, sons Glen and Michael Shockley, three brothers Homer, Paul and Charles Shockley, and two sisters Lois Brady and Mildred Bakke.

Memorial ceremonies will be held Monday April 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel, 767 Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, Illinois with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the service, Monday. Cremation rites were accorded.
