Frank Ridings was pastor, union treasurer, and sportsman

G. Frank Ridings, 64, of Roscoe, IL, was born December 21, 1957, in Louisville, KY, the son of Craig and Mary (Helm) Ridings. Frank married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Puidick, on July 8, 1978, in Rockford, IL. A member of the NRA, Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, and baseball. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Kansas City Chiefs.
He passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022, in his home.
Besides working at Chrysler Corporation for 20 years, where he was treasurer of United Auto Workers (UAW) for many years, Frank also pastored various churches from 1984 to 2005. He was a member of First Assembly of God and The Grove Fellowship of Poplar Grove. A 1976 graduate of Rockford Lutheran School, he attended Rock Valley College, graduated from Judson University in 1980, and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO in 1984.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Kathy; daughters, Melissa (Dan) Shank, Holly Ridings, and Tiffany (Josh) Learn; grandchildren, Aydan Shank, Adlie Shank, Chloe Shank, Asher Shank, and Harper Learn; brother, Kevin (Michelle) Ridings; nieces, Stacy, Autumn, and Melody. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, James Carey Ridings; and loving fur babies, Hunter and Honey.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
