Gas prices rising nationwide, including Roscoe
GasBuddy says that prices are usually cheaper on Mondays than on the weekends.

With the help of GasBuddy, who offers a price-checking app and tips for fuel efficiency, we've developed a webpage that lists Roscoe area gasoline prices. Right now, the lowest price  for regular gasoline in Roscoe is $3.18 per gallon at Walmart, followed by $3.28 at Love's at 13477 Quality Drive, Thorntons at 13555 Willowbrook Road, and Speedway at 5951 East Rockton Road. Everywhere else in Roscoe, it's $3.35 per gallon.

There are good prices in Rockton and South Beloit too, and across the state line in Beloit, regular gasoline is $2.89 at Woodman's or at Marathon at 2760 Prairie Avenue. Prices might depend on competition, the cost of land, the distance the tanker truck had to drive, and the prices in effect when the tanker filled up. Or the gas station may discount its fuel to sell you something that's more profitable for them in their store.

In Rockford, the average price is two cents lower than Roscoe's lowest - $3.26 per gallon. The national average today is $3.157 per gallon. Average gas prices in the Rockford area have increased by 2¢ per gallon since yesterday, by 6.5¢ since last week, 7.8¢ since last month, and 95.2¢ per gallon since this time last year.

For midgrade and premium, price differences between gas stations can be even sharper, Midgrade is only $3.39 at Thorntons and Fas Fuel at 11607 Main Street, but can be $3.60 or more elsewhere in town. For premium, Fas Fuel is currently the lowest, at $3.61, with Thorntons at $3.67. Elsewhere, premium starts at $3.93 and runs as high as $4.10 today.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at Gasbuddy, told the TODAY Show, "Watch for those state lines, that's where you tend to see prices either shoot up by 20 to 40 cents or plummet 20 to 40 cents."
