Suspicious fire at salvage yard on Christmas morning in Rockton Township
Several passenger vehicles and two mobile homes at a salvage yard were aflame Christmas morning when Rockton Fire arrived shortly after 6 a.m. near Willow Lane and Guetschow Avenue, in Rockton Township, near Fischer Road. With assistance from South Beloit and Harlem-Roscoe Fire Departments, firefighters brought the fire under control within minutes. The vehicles, which including at least one RV, were parked in a line. A&B Auto Parts, which has a South Beloit address, is located in the area. Rockton Fire says, "The fire is suspicious in nature and the State Fire Marshal was called in to assist with the investigation."
