Light Up the Parks Holiday Parade, Nov. 20

Every year Machesney Park opens the Christmas season with the “Light Up the Parks Holiday Parade,” which is returning on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022. Spirited fun starts at 4:30 p.m. with fireworks and the Loves Park Tree Lighting at Machinery Crossing.

The parade will start at Loves Park City Hall, crossing over to Elm Avenue turning west on Roosevelt Rd. concluding back at Machesney Crossing (the former Machesney Park Mall) where Mayor Johnson will lead in an awards ceremony and the lighting of the villages 30 ft. Christmas tree.

Santa Claus will be seen at the end of the route to keep the magic alive for those who believe and will be at the tree lighting to listen to Christmas wishes of little ones. As a bonus, treats are being provided by a local church. Please bring your letters to Santa to make the most of the season!
