Local home market update: June 2022

Real estate prices are at an all time high [PDF]. The average home price went up 5.8% to $178,660 through June 2022. Rockford area homes sold in less than 2.5 weeks. But, sales were actually down 2.9% due to an unbalanced market. There had been a 7.4% decline in available housing. Now the market is steadily on the rise.

Good news is, it’s a good time to sell your home. If you are a buyer, inventory has been on the up and up for the last four months and isn’t planning on slowing down.

The rising interest rates are not negatively affecting buyers. If you need to buy a house and can afford to, that’s when the time is right to buy. Discuss options with a local lender or ask me how to get started today.

Are you thinking of buying, selling, investing, or becoming an agent in real estate? Real estate is a complicated business, so let me help explain and walk you through the process.
