Roscoe EAT ONE 5 debuts with “Taste on Main”

The Village of Roscoe recently created EAT ONE 5, a promotional brand that will spotlight events and partnerships with businesses in Roscoe.

First on the docket is “Taste on Main” on Saturday, June 25. It will be held at Main Street Square, 5300 Williams Dr., from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Several businesses in the center are sponsoring an afternoon of music, games and lots of food options. A couple of "super heroes" will be paying a visit from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

The 3R’s Learning Materials Center will be kid-central with lots of arts and crafts activities.

Musical entertainment features live remote from The Bull- 95.3 radio, and music from The Music Man DJ Service.

Perfectly Seasoned Catering will be selling grilled burgers, hot dogs and chicken sandwiches.

Six food trucks will be located around the shopping center parking lots.

Participating food trucks include: Batchz BBQ; Pizza Fresca; Sabores Mexican Cuisine; Upstream Fish Co; J & C Old Fashioned Ice Cream, and Vintage Goose Café, serving coffee, tea, and chocolate in a 1964 refurbished Airstream trailer.

Most of the entertainment will take place on the west side of the complex. (Williams Dr.) Parking can be found throughout the shopping center.

“Taste of Main “is being held to bring awareness of what Main Street Square has to offer. The event runs from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. It’s a family-friendly event and free of charge.

Main Street Square, on Williams Drive in Roscoe, was built by Dan Hayne Construction about 18 years ago. The upscale shopping center has gone through many changes since that time.

It is currently under the management of Windmill Properties.

The 40,000 sq ft complex is fully occupied with an interesting mix of businesses:

Country Financial Insurance; First Community Credit Union; Elite Dental; Meraki Salon Studio; Skin Deep Body Art and Beauty Studio; Gambino Realtors; Mama Sue’s Deli and Slots; Perfectly Seasoned Catering; Stateline Chamber of Commerce; Crazy Llama Brewery; Laundry Bin; Rebecca Weaver - Massage Therapy and Sensory Therapeutic; Studio 12 Pilates; Edward Jones; Lifestyle Chiropractic; Mathnasium; Sexson Orthodontics; Midwest Construction; Benny’s Slots and The 3 R’s Learning Materials Center.

“Taste on Main” is just the first of several events to come. EAT ONE 5 is already making plans for Hometown Holidays in December. This year, the annual Christmas celebration will feature a visit from Santa, music, games, food trucks, and entertainment in both downtown Roscoe and Main Street Square.
