The Bass Fishing team at Hononegah competed at the IHSA Bass Fishing Championships for a 2nd straight season. The 2-day championship was scheduled for May 20 and May 21, 2022 on Carlyle Lake in Carlyle, IL.

After Day 1, Friday, the team, consisting of Mason Lambert, Landen Stringham, and Colton Boelkes, sat in 20th place with a total weight of 2 lbs. 12 oz. The team was one of 75 competing this year. The championships were not held a year ago due to COVID 19. Hononegah did compete in the 2019-2020 IHSA Bass Fishing Championships.

On Saturday, the tournament was cancelled due to weather, so they finished the tournament in 20th place.

Hononegah qualified by winning the sectional on May 5 at Pierce Lake at Rock Cut State Park. The team is coached by Bill Heller and the driver of the boat is Jeff Boelkes.

Complete results can be found on the IHSA website.
