Fundraiser at Roscoe Methodist benefiting two local families on Saturday

Doctors says Joey Beard needs a liver transplant, kidney transplant and bone marrow transplant.

On Saturday, May 7th, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Roscoe Methodist is having a fundraiser festival benefiting the Joey Beard and April Doubleday families.

Both Joey and April are fighting health battles and in need of our community support.

The funds raised will support two local families with ongoing health conditions which drain the family resources. Joey Beard, 40 years old, has a rare gene mutation called Stat3 GOF which causes an autoimmune disease and is awaiting a triple organ transplant. April Doubleday, 17 years old, has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and has ongoing medical and support needs.

According to a story in the Rockford Register-Star, Joey's doctors at University of Pittsburg Medical Center have decided, because of distance, that living donors are the best option for him. He is in need of a liver transplant, kidney transplant and bone marrow transplant. His wife Hayley has been approved to donate part of her liver, since hers can regrow. He still needs another donor for a kidney and bone marrow. Food, silent auction, bouncy houses plus many other great raffles and auctions will be available.

Harlem-Roscoe Fire equipment will be on-site to ride on and see.
