Lisa Ann (Schroeder) Becker, 54, of Roscoe, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022. Lisa was surrounded by her niece Amanda, her mother Carol, her son Jack and her husband Bill. Lisa is survived by her sons Jack and Kyle and daughter in law Brittany. She was born October 9, 1967.
Lisa was born in Wood Dale, IL to Ed and Carol Schroeder on October 9, 1967. She lived in Wood Dale until her family moved to Algonquin when she was 10. She graduated from Jacobs High School in 1985. After high school Lisa worked at Eby Brown and owned an Amoco station in Dekalb.
According to a GoFundMe page, Lisa was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) in 2014, the day after Christmas. IBC makes up only 2% of all breast cancer cases. Lisa’s doctors prescribed five months of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. Bill wrote, "She rarely complains... She goes about her day with such poise and dignity." Lisa returned home on July 1, 2015, but later the cancer spread, and she battled it for another four years.
Bill writes, "Lisa and I met 35 years ago at Wags Restaurant in East Dundee. We didn't date at that time, however life had a way of putting us in each other's path over the next few years. We married on July 16, 2002 in Woodstock. For the past 17 years, we have lived in Roscoe."
Lisa is survived by husband Bill; sons Jack and Kyle (Brittany), niece Amanda; nephews Mike and Ryan; mother, Carol; sister Lora; and brothers Ed and David. She is predeceased by her father, Ed.
Memorial visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe, IL 61073. There will be a small private ceremony.
