Richard Warner (1939-2022) was respected in the snack food industry

Richard J. Warner of Roscoe died from heart failure on March 16, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mauriem and his children, Diane, Rick (Elise) and Debbie (Jeremy). He also leaves behind his eight grandchildren: Rachel (Jeff) Alex, Ricky, Ryan (Savannah), Lauren, Chloe, Kate and Max, as well as his brother Edward. Other siblings included his sister Pam Christensen and brother Paul David Warner.

Richard was born in Nevada to Jarvis and Fernetta Warner on November 5, 1939. He was the oldest son of six children. His family moved to Payson, Utah and then Spanish Fork, Utah where he spent his formative years. He attended Spanish Fork High School and Brigham Young University. Richard also served a 2 1/2 year mission for the Church of Latter-day Saints in Brazil, where he met his wife, Mauriem. He was a faithful member of his church who accepted and excelled in all its callings throughout the years. Richard also served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War.



Richard was well liked and respected in the snack food industry. He was known to be a man of honesty and integrity. In February of 1988 he started his own company, American Extrusion International, as a sales office in Boca Raton, Florida. The company sold extruders and other auxiliary equipment to the snack food industry. A few years later he purchased Palmer Custom Machinery, a manufacturing business in South Beloit, Illinois and combined the sales and manufacturing side under one roof. His company now serves customers in over 110 countries. He was a creative and innovative man that designed and improved many of the machines that were built, which can create dozens of shapes.

Richard is loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2535 Austin Place, Beloit, WI, 53511 at 10:30 a.m. Richard will be laid to rest at the Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Rd., Machesney Park, IL. 61115.
