Christmas services at Rockton and Roscoe churches

Many churches in the Stateline area have planned special events for Christmastime.

Rockton

Williams Tree Farm, 4661 Yale Bridge Rd. in Rockton: a Live Nativity and Christmas Celebration on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. As this marks the end of their season, the staff says, "We will use this time to ready our hearts as we prepare for the true meaning for the season."

Church by the Side of the Road, 500 S. Blackhawk Blvd. in Rockton: 26th Christmas Candlelight Service on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021 at 5:00pm. Singers and musicians will be Neala Jensen and Chip Messiner.

Rockton United Methodist Church, 102 W Chapel St. in Rockton: The Longest Night: A Service of Hope and Healing, online on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 7:00 p.m. Email for Zoom link or call 815-624-7591. The service "will mark the longest night of the year and to acknowledge that our experiences during this season often include grief and regrets."

River Chapel, 14053 Nazarene Dr. in Rockton: Christmas Eve services on Friday, Dec. 24 at 7:00 p.m.

Park City Church, meeting at Williams Tree Farm, 4661 Yale Bridge Rd. in Rockton: Christmas Eve services on Friday, Dec. 24 at 1:00 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2336 Freeport Rd. in Rockton: Christmas Eve services on Friday, Dec. 24 at 4:00 p.m. "The service will include Bible readings, Holy Communion, a message, and our favorite 'Silent Night' hymn by candlelight."

Roscoe

Life Church, 5910 Elevator Rd in Roscoe: Christmas concert available online, Christmas through the Decades, on Sunday evening, Dec. 19, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The church says this festive night "will take you back in time with all of the classics of Christmas!"

Heritage Baptist Church, 12848 Willowbrook Rd. in Roscoe: Children’s Christmas Program on Sunday, Dec. 19 at 5:00 p.m. and Christmas Eve Service, on Friday, December 24 at 5:00 p.m.

Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, 7404 Elevator Rd. in Roscoe: Sunday School Christmas Program on Sunday, Dec. 19 at 10:30 a.m. and Christmas Eve Candlelit Service on Friday, Dec. 24 at 5:00 p.m., both in person and livestreamed.

Hope Church, 5656 Elevator Rd. in Roscoe: Christmas Eve services on Friday, Dec. 24 at 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Roscoe United Methodist Church, 10816 Main St. in Roscoe: Christmas Eve Candlelight Services at 5:00, 7:00 and 9:00 PM. 5:00 Children’s & Family Service is a fun, interactive service for our younger children. Songs, games and Bible stories bring the message of Jesus’ light in our world. 7:00 Family Service is a worshipful experience with music by the contemporary band Mahalo. 9:00 service features traditional hymns and the Chancel Choir.
