Elaine Landenberger loved baking with granddaughters

Elaine E. Landenberger, 90, of Rockford, IL, formerly of Roscoe, IL, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 20, 2021. She was born May 20, 1931 in Tuttle, North Dakota, the daughter of Fay and Pauline (Leno) McCurdy. Elaine married Walter M. Landenberger on June 26, 1951. Elaine was a homemaker who loved cooking and baking, especially with her granddaughters. She was a faithful member of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church in Roscoe. Elaine was a former member of the Moose Club and the Foresters. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will truly be missed.

Elaine is survived by her sons, Darran Landenberger and Cordell (Kristi) Landenberger; granddaughters, Amy (David) Lynch, Kari (Jared) Smith, Katey (Josh) Craddock, Hannah (Aaron) Moore and Riley Landenberger; great-grandchildren, Ava, Damon, Hazel, Martin, Willa and Asher; siblings, Gladys Zerr, Darlene Skare, Mary Lou Metz, Diana Kwasniewski, Stanley Dockter, John Dockter, Dan Dockter, Lynn Dockter and Lyle Dockter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, daughter-in-law, Karen Landenberger and numerous siblings.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
