After a welcome summer break, children and teachers (and moms) were ready to begin a new school year at Ledgewood, Stone Creek, Kinnnikinnick Elementary, and Roscoe Middle School.

To kick off Roscoe’s new school year, the Roscoe PTO held an outdoor welcome back extravaganza in the playground area between Ledgewood and Stone Creek Schools, Monday, Aug 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Parents and kids lined up to drop off bags of school supplies in the gymnasium at Ledgewood and Stone Creek before heading for the fun stuff on the playground.

The Winnebago County Health Department was set up in the gymnasium, offering COVID 19 vaccinations to anyone interested.

There were games, a bounce house, food, a visit from Pickles the Clown, and the opportunity for kids to “dunk” their teachers in the dunk tank.

Teachers were on hand to meet and mingle with students and parents.
