Many of the members of Roscoe United Methodist Church are avid car buffs and enjoy sharing their hobby with others. With the help of many members of Roscoe United Methodist Men (RUMM) and other church members, the car and bike show planned for Saturday, August 28 will be an event for the whole family. New teen drivers will see demonstrations on how to fill tires and fluids properly, change oil, and other basic vehicle maintenance. Lunch will be served and many summer games will be available for every age. The soundtrack for the event will be live music by three local bands: 80’s Hit List, Wade Collier Band and Mahalo, some of whom have played during the church's free ice cream events this summer. In fact,  if you were there for ice cream in June or July, you may have seen some classic cars on display.

The show will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Roscoe Methodist Church, 10816 Main St., Roscoe, IL. Pre-register your car or bike for the show at https://www.roscoeumc.org/car-show ($10 entrance fee). Judging will begin at 11:00 for the four car and bike award categories: Peoples’ Choice, Best Project Car, Pastor’s Choice and Best Bike. Dash plaques will be given to the first 30 entrants.

All proceeds will benefit local charities sponsored by Roscoe Methodist.

According to Doris Tropp, the church's administrative assistant, the Roscoe United Methodist Men (RUMM), started in 1982, continues its tradition of Christian fellowship, growth and service to our church and community. Their mission is to support spiritual growth among men, helping men to mature as disciples as they encourage spiritual formation in others. RUMM meets for breakfast monthly and has interest groups that offer a variety of weekly, monthly and annual activities and fundraisers to support the mission and goals.
