Lizzie Neal Band performed at the Rockton River Market, Wednesday evening, July 21.

Wednesday evening, July 21, was a perfect summer evening to enjoy the mellow music of Lizzie Neal Band, while sipping a cold drink, enjoying some Mexican food at the Cantina Taco food truck, and topping it all up with some delicious ice cream from the Dairy Haus.

It was all happening in Settlers Park at the Rockton River Market in Rockton.

The annual summer event began as a farmers market a few years ago, and has morphed into concerts on the green. The weekly event also includes games and activities for kids and adults, and merchandise for sale.

River Market began June 2, and continues through Aug. 25. The 2021 season included a variety of genres including country and pop. Entertainers for the first half of the season were Gary the Band, Dirty Fishnet Stockings, Shuffle This, Platinum Country, Good Men. and Harpo’s Revue.

There are still five concerts coming up for the remaining of the summer:

  1. Minimal – July 28
  2. Soul Tango – Aug. 4
  3. Secret Serenade – Aug. 11
  4. That Gurl – Aug. 18
  5. Distilled – Aug. 25.

The event is sponsored by real estate brokers John and Sheryl Peterson.

Mary Cooper and her daughter Mila had fun making giant bubbles.
