South Beloit Homecoming brings the Milledgeville Missiles to the South Beloit Athletic Complex

Homecoming 2024 has been filled with many things this year for the SOBO nation, from themed days to power puff football to games from the boys' soccer team. Well, on Friday the football team plays host to the Milledgeville Missiles in an 8-man North Conference Game.

Game time from the South Beloit Athletic Complex is set for 7 pm. Arrive early for the Booster Club tailgate party (starts 5 pm).

The SOBOs have won five games in a row, including last week’s hard-fought 6-0 win over Alden-Hebron. The 5 and 1 record should put the SOBOs in the playoffs; however, with 8-man ball being different from 11-man ball, nobody really knows for sure. Another victory would cement them into the playoffs.

The Milledgeville Missiles are 5-1 having dropped last week’s matchup against Polo 30-14. The matchup with Polo 30-14 pitted two of the top teams in Illinois 8-man football. The Missiles are an explosive team that can score from anywhere on the field. They have scored on the ground, through the air, returned punts and kicks as well as scored on defense.

Every game, with the expectation of last week's game, the Missiles have been in control of the running time. South Beloit will need to take advantage of this if they want to get the win Friday night. South Beloit’s 6-0 banger win over Alden-Hebron is something they can rely on when the game gets tough.

South Beloit’s Trudane Peterson will need to show up and show out for his team to get the W. He scores on offense, tackles on defense, and changes games on Special Teams.

Numbers to keep an eye on for the Milledgeville Missiles:
