1993 Hononegah graduate gets football head coaching job in North Carolina

Jim Ryan, a 1993 Hononegah High School graduate and previous offensive coordinator for the Indians, has been hired as head coach of R-S Central High School in North Carolina.

R-S Central finished the 2023 season with a 3-7 overall record and a 1-5 mark in the Mountain Foothills 1A/2A Conference in North Carolina. The Hilltoppers' last full winning season came in 2014 when R-S Central went 8-5.

According to Coach Jim Ryan’s CoachTube profile, he has coached at various levels for more than 20 years. "Varsity Offensive Coordinator for the last 7 years. Always trying to stay one step ahead of the defense! Have Fun, play loose, and coach your butt off!"

R-S Central High School is located in Rutherfordton, NC, about 75 minutes west of Charlotte, NC. Rutherfordton was established in 1787 and was once home to Christopher Bechtler, the man who minted America's first one-dollar gold coin.
