Strong spirits: are you thirsty?

I love a hot bath or shower. I love a cool swim in the pool or a lake or the ocean. There is something great and necessary about being in the water. And it is also necessary to have the water in me...

Doctors, scientists, and medical experts tell us that it is essential to drink lots of water every day. Without water, we - and everything else - would die. I could soak in a pool for days and still die from thirst. It needs to be in me.

"Jesus said, 'Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.' By this, he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive." (John 7: 37-39)

It's good to be in the spiritual water: church, prayer, fellowship, worship, study, and such. But you could be in that, around that, and still be spiritually dead. You need the Spirit in you. You need the living water. Come to Jesus and drink.
