Stephen (Steve) Lee Stiffler was born on October 25, 1948 to Richard and Rita (Wickson) Stiffler. Stephen was the eldest of eight children.
Stephen passed in the comfort of his home on Thursday, September 14, 2023, surrounded by his daughter Shannon, son Michael, and loving family members.
In an incredible and bittersweet moment, Stephen passed just hours after his father, Richard Stiffler. Stephen and his father shared an incredibly close and loving relationship.
He is survived by his children: Shannon (Brad) Chambers, son Michael (Elizabeth)Stiffler, grandchildren Oliviana and Lauren Chambers, and Josephine and Ari Stiffler, each of whom he adored. Siblings: Cynthia (Car) Orlando, Bill Stiffler, Howie Stiffler, Ann (Jesse) Campos, Patty (Dean) Schermerhorn, Ellen (Matt) Harp, and numerous very special nieces and nephews and extended family. He is predeceased by his father Richard, his mother Rita, and brother Gene Stiffler.
A private memorial will be held as Steve wished. His children would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff of OSF Hospice and his amazing nurse, Lydia, as she filled the days with laughter and conversation and warmth and empathy, and most importantly, comfort.
