South Beloit travels to Peoria Heights looking to improve to 2-0

The South Beloit SOBOs exploded for 58 points in the opening week of the 8-man 2023 IHSA football win over Hiawatha 58-26.

Head coach Jim Morrow talked about his senior QB Kaden Myhres knowing he would be a major reason for their 2023 success . Kaden threw for three touchdowns in the opening half against Hiawatha. Desmond Hampton also opened the season with 3 TDs. Two came via the air and one came on the ground.

The 2nd week of the season is another road game for the SOBOs as they travel to 0-1 Peoria Heights on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023. The Patriots dropped their season opener to Polo 62-14. Peoria Heights is led on offense by senior QB Camron Williams. Williams struggled to connect with his WRs last week in the loss to Polo. The Patriots are a program that has struggled in recent seasons to get enough numbers into the football program. Coach Kendal Parker and his staff worked hard this offseason to recruit kids at the school to come out for football.

This game is another nonconference tilt for the South Beloit squad.

Tune in early for the game as Peoria Heights allowed 54 points last week in the first half and running was in place for the entire 2nd half of the game.
