James H. Breuhaus (1943-2023)

James Herbert Breuhaus, of Roscoe, IL, loved the fast life - he rode motorcycles, loved to ski, was married four times, and earned many speeding tickets driving his Corvette. So many that the instructor at the required safety courses knew him by name. James found Christ in 1997, and said his only regret is that he was not saved earlier in his life.

He died peacefully on August 22, 2023, at the age of 80, after long illnesses.

James was born on July 3, 1943, in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School and went on to receive an electrical engineering degree from Northwestern University and a master's in business from the University of Chicago.

James worked at Sundstrand in Rockford, IL and later went to work for Barber Colman, serving in sales management. He also ran a office in the Netherlands for three years. He then ran his own business in Rockton, IL for several years grinding recycled tires and turning them into rubber for playgrounds.

He was survived by his wife, Irene (Breistol) Breuhaus; children, Brian Breuhaus, currently living in Jerusalem, Israel, Bethany Breuhaus of Madison, WI, Erik Breuhaus, and Collin Breuhaus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Robert Breuhaus and Hellen (Wells) Breuhaus.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Hope Church, 5656 Elevator Rd., Roscoe, IL 61073, at 11 a.m. A luncheon at the church will follow the service.
