Nancy Lundquist (1946-2023)

Nancy M. Lundquist, 77, had many special friends that included her high school friends who got together often for “lunch brunch” and “The sisters” a Bible study group.

Nancy passed away Friday, July 21, 2023. 

She was born July 7, 1946, in Rockford IL to Art and Margaret (Lindquist) Jacobson. Nancy graduated from Rockford East High School in 1964. She had many friends there and met her future husband, Gary.

Nancy’s faith was very important to her and could be seen in her loving and kind personality. She and Gary were both raised at First Evangelical Free Church in Rockford.

After moving to Rockton, IL, the couple became members of Hope Evangelical Free Church in Roscoe, IL. Nancy participated in the “Joint Heirs” Sunday school group and sang in the choir.

She was self-employed for many years, providing house cleaning and personal assistance. She also worked for the late dentist, Dr. Richard Tuneberg, DDS, in Rockford.

Nancy is survived by her son, Andrew (Andi) Leigh of Rockford; daughter, Amy Sue Wilkins of Monroe, WI; grandchildren, Ethan Wilkins, Gabe Jacobson, Zechariah Leigh and Lily Leigh; sister, Sue (Steve) Franzen of Roscoe; sister, Jill (David) Love of South Bend, IN; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Gary W. Lundquist; and parents, Art and Margaret Jacobson.

Funeral arrangements provided by Honquest Funeral Home in Roscoe, IL.

Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Hope Evangelical Free Church, 5656 Elevator Road, Roscoe, IL 61073, with visitation beginning at 3 p.m. to service time; Pastor Casey Ehlers will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.

Nancy’s family would like to thank her friends who enriched her life.
