Adult Game Day, the fourth Monday of the month 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Roscoe Township will be hosting a once-a-month game day at the Roscoe Township Community Center 4562 Hononegah Road Roscoe, IL from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Monday, June 26th Monday, July 24th, and Monday, August 28th. Check out the Jean Seegers in-depth article on the event. Hosted by a group of 1990-1991 Hononegah Community High School (HCHS) classmates who grew up together in the Rockton/Roscoe area. This event aims to raise funds for research on specific diseases. [more details]

Family Creek Day - Sat Jul 22 10:30 am

Nature at The Confluence

All are welcome to investigate our waterways, find out how we can be good stewards of our watershed, and of course splash in Turtle Creek. Wading in the creek is optional but encouraged, and close-toed shoes that can get wet are required. This event is best suited for ages 5 and up, as well as adults who enjoy creek exploration. Turtle Creek has a fairly flat, rocky bottom that ranges from 1 to 4 feet deep, and a mild current. Please register in advance. The cost is $10/family. [more details]

Rockton-Roscoe Rotary Rib Fest - Sat Jul 22 12:00 pm

Viking Lanes Parking Lot

Join us for the annual Rockton-Roscoe Rotary Rib Fest at the Viking Lanes in South Beloit, IL. From 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Vote for your favorite ribs grilled by your favorite firehouse!

Proceeds go to the Rockton-Roscoe Rotary Scholarship and Book Donation Fund.

Bushnell-Wheeler House Ice Cream Social - Sun Jul 23 11:00 am

Bushnell-Wheeler Home

Join us in the free event where people will be able to take tours of the home to admire the many changes that have been made to the home, barn, and yard. Enjoy tours of the museum, ice cream, hotdogs, lemonade, and snacks.

There is no admission fee but donations are accepted. The event will be from 11 am to 4 pm at The Bushnell Wheeler Home. A craft sale will also take place.

Rockton River Market: Minimal - Wed Jul 26 6:00 pm

This week’s musical artist for the Rockton River Market is Minimal, a musical trio. The Rockton River Market takes place every Wednesday at Settlers Park, 150 Hawick Street in Rockton. The music starts at 6:00 p.m.
Despite their name, Minimal is artistically complex. Their playlist includes songs from Led Zeppelin, Crosby Stills & Nash, and Black Sabbath, but also from Post Malone, Justin Bieber, and Breaking Benjamin. Bassist and vocalist Greg DeCarlo said, "We are a true variety band." [more details]
