Ron Peterson (1959-2023)

Ron James Peterson, 63, of Roscoe, IL was born on December 16, 1959 in Rockford, IL, the son of Kenneth and Lucille (Funk) Peterson. He was a 1977 graduate of Guilford High School, in Rockford. He married Deborah (Guetschow) Waller on August 21, 1993.

Ron passed away on Thursday, May 4, in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, yardwork, small engine repair, and wood working. Ron was employed as a machinist for many years. He was known as Mr. Fix It, and the solver of all problems.

Ron was always DIYing things and often said “If there is a will, there is a way.”

Ron was artistic and selfless. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was a proud supporter of the second amendment. He loved his country and anything camouflage.

Ron was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Peterson; children, Jamie (Tom) Wand, Erik Waller, and Charles “CJ” (Sarah) Peterson; grandchildren, Jaiden, Lillian, and Ethan; brother, Rodney (Karen) Peterson; brother-in-law, Jerry (Elaine) Guetschow; sister-in-law, Patricia (Jeff Stump) Pickering, Barb Guetschow, and Marcia Pettit; his golden retriever, Bella.

He was predeceased by his parents and mother-in-law, Helen Guetschow.

A Visitation of Remembrance will be from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI followed by a memorial service beginning at 5:30 p.m.
