Curt Thorell loved going for motorcycle rides

Curt Thorell, 69, of Roscoe, IL,  loved spending time with his family, bicycling with his wife and daughter, going for motorcycle rides, sport shooting, hanging out on the Florida beach with his son and his family, and spending time with his cat, Gabby.

He passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2023 after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure, surrounded by his loving family.

Curt was born on September 9, 1953, in Rockford, IL to Roger and Martha Thorell.

He is survived by Mary, his loving spouse of 48 years; daughter Michelle (PJ Deschler) Wallace; son Christopher (Christina) Thorell; grandchildren Zachary, Kyle, Carter and Dylan; and sister Kim Thorell. He was predeceased by his parents and his nephew Daniel Thorell. 

Celebration of life will be from 3 - 7 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Whiffletree, 11347 Main Street, Roscoe, IL 61073. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the family for a memorial bench at Rock Cut State Park.
