William “Bill” C. Gillette, Jr., 77, of Roscoe, IL, was born May 28, 1945, in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of William C. and Lenora (Havner) Gillette, Sr. He married Kathy Hastings on October 10, 1964, in Rockford, IL.
He passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, surrounded by family.
Bill was employed by Greenlee Bros for many years and retired from Cincinnati Lamb in 2004. He attended City First Church. He was a member of G-Pac. Bill loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and softball. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; children, Mark (Beth) Gillette, Amy (Steve) Tuma, and Rob (Jennifer) Gillette; grandchildren, Jordan (Katie) Gillette, Lucas (Jessica) Gillette, Morgen (fiancé, Skyler) Koelker, Seth Gillette, Zachary (fiancé, Jana) Stowers, Jacob Stowers, and Cooper Gillette; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Benjamin, Theo, and one on the way; sisters, Dian Robbins and Cheryl Petty; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Warren Gillette; and loving dog, Sassy.
Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 1 p.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
