Strong spirits: what happened at Easter?

I love easter egg hunts and all the fun that kids have with them. I love easter candy, especially jelly beans. I love chicks and bunnies and flowers and spring. But I must tell you these have little or nothing to do with Easter, or at least not with Resurrection Sunday. Resurrection Sunday has to do with something and Someone that I love more than any of those other things. I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, but lest we forget, may I remind you?

Resurrection Sunday commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. We believe he died the previous Friday, not by accident, not as a martyr, but willingly, as the unique and holy son of God, for the sins of the whole world, past, present, and future. He not only was alive, he IS alive, in heaven, praying for us all. Hard to fathom? Yes. But true.

Read the accounts in the Bible books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Ask your questions. Wrestle with the implications. Give God a chance to show you the truth - that he exists, and that he loves you so very much.

"These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God, and believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:31)

I hope you enjoyed everything that Easter brought. But don't miss out on the very best! Questions? Write me...
