Friederike Broge, 96, of Roscoe, IL was born in Austria on January 23, 1926 to Johann and Rosina Nowotny. She came to the United States in 1952 after her marriage to the love of her life, Donald Broge, who was serving in the U.S. Army. After their wedding in Montreal, Canada, they were married for 66 years, until his death in 2018. Friederike was an avid animal lover, always caring for her dogs.
She passed away on December 22, 2022 at Highview in the Woodlands in Rockton.
Friederike is survived by many nieces and nephews in Rockford and elsewhere in the United States, as well as extended family in Austria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Broge, and her parents, Johann and Rosina Nowotny.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Rd., Machesney Park, IL 61115.
